傳動:減速器將渦輪螺旋槳發動機﹑渦輪軸發動機或活塞式航空發動機輸出軸的轉速降低到空氣螺旋槳(或旋翼)所需轉速的齒輪傳動裝置。減速器可以裝在發動機內﹐也可裝在發動機外成為一個獨立的機外減速器。減速器由齒輪﹑齒輪架﹑軸﹑軸承和機匣等零﹑組件組成。航空發動機用的減速器必須結構緊湊﹑重量輕和在高轉速高負荷下能夠長期可靠工作。它在運轉中還須工作平穩﹑噪聲低和齒輪嚙合均勻﹐避免與其他零件發生高頻諧振。減速器按螺旋槳軸線與發動機軸線的相對位置分為同軸式(單軸或雙軸)和偏位式﹐前者槳軸與曲軸(或轉子)的軸線重合﹐后者則互相偏離。減速器按輪系排列的型式還可分為簡單式﹑行星式(單級行星和雙級行星)﹑差動式和復合式。星型活塞式發動機一般採用單級行星式減速器。減速比(減速器輸出軸轉速與輸入軸轉速之比)在0.56~0.70之間。雙級行星式減速器在相同的減速比下直徑比單級行星式小﹐但結構較復雜。功率較大的渦輪螺旋槳發動機一般採用差動式減速器或雙級行星式減速器﹐減速比約為0.1。功率更大的渦輪螺旋槳發動機則採用同心的雙槳軸減速器﹐兩軸轉速相同而轉向相反。直昇機的主減速器多數為復合式結構﹐通常先由螺旋傘齒輪減速并換向﹐然后再藉助雙級行星或差動行星輪系減速﹐減速比可達0.016以下。差動行星式減速器可將輸入軸的扭矩分兩路傳遞﹐從而減輕了傳動齒輪的負荷。大功率的航空減速器一般還裝有測扭機構﹐通過測量扭矩指示發動機的輸出功率。
