人工林人工林man-made forest  rengong}in人工林(~-made forest)以人工方式形成的森林。造林方式可分為直播(種籽)造林、植苗造林、分生造林、飛機播種造林和人工促進天然更新等。 根據考古資料,中國人工造林始于新石器時代,有文字記載的不晚子周代。世界林業發達國家大面積營造人工林已有2(X)年以上的歷史。據統計,20世紀80年代初全世界人工林面積己有1 .40億公頃。中國大面積人工林的營造是在中華人民共和國建立后開始的,到目前止,人工林保存面積達2 146余萬公頃,蓄積量達41670萬立方米(參見彩圖插頁第52頁)。 人工林的經營目的明確,造林地和樹種選擇,林分空間結構和造林技術,以及撫育措施都是由經營者按其經營目的決定的。人工林與天然林相比,有如下特點:①按經營目的選擇造林樹種,其森林更符合人們的需要。②一般為同齡林,林相整齊。③森林樹種組成較少,層次結構較單純。④個體的水平分布均勻,布局較合理。⑤森林個體分化程度相對較小,但個體與群體的矛盾比較突出。⑥生產周期較短,比較速生豐產。 由于天然林的過度采伐,致使木材供應緊張和生態環境惡化,人們不得不大量營造人工林來彌補森林的不足。但人工林的大量發展,已暴露出不少問題,如森林穩定性差、病蟲害嚴重、地力衰退等。它關系到人工林持續發展的大問題,因此,已引起世界各國林學家的極大關注。一般來說,人工林地力衰退 人工林毛白楊 (《中國國土 畫冊》)主要是樹種選用不當,對立地條件不適應,以及人為管理方法不善的結果。為此,需要采取一系列綜合措施,包括抗性育種、混交間作、施肥改土及必要的生物和化學防治措施等,關鍵還在于建立一個具有結構比較復雜、良性循環的穩定的人工林生態系統(參見彩圖插頁第52頁)。(賴世登)
