集材 在森林采運中，將各伐倒地點的木材匯集到山上楞場的作業。 集材距離一般為幾百米，至多幾千米，常修有簡易集材道。有時因集材設備不能運達木材所在處，須先將足夠一次集材量的木材集中于集材道旁，該工序稱歸堆或小集中。集材的工藝類型按木材在集材中的形態可分為3種：原木集材,即林木伐倒后就地打枝、造材，將原木運往山上楞場；原條集材，即林木伐倒后只進行打枝,不經造材而集往山上楞場；伐倒木集材，即伐倒的林木不經打枝、造材，將整棵樹木直接集往山上楞場。中國東北林區主要采用原條集材，南方則多用原木集材。 集材方式的選擇是伐區工藝設計的主要內容，關系到木材生產的成本，并影響到森林更新和環境保護。集材方式按使用的動力可分為如下幾種：①人力和畜力集材。前者是最原始的集材方法，集材效率低，早已淘汰。②移動式設備集材。木材隨集材牽引機械一起移動，不受距離和方向的限制，不需復雜的裝置，工藝過程簡單，且牽引機械可以完成其他作業,但受地形條件的限制,對沿途地表和林木有損害，且消耗功率較大。其主要形式是拖拉機集材。③絞盤機集材。機械位置固定，既不需要修建集材道，又可充分利用發動機的動力，可用于地形復雜和沼澤地區,但集材距離受限制,安裝和轉移設備費工，只適于皆伐作業。④架空索道集材。除具有絞盤機集材的優點外，還對地表和保留林木無損害或損害較少,適于山地或跨越溝壑、沼澤的作業,缺點是架設費工，轉移困難。⑤滑道集材。是利用山地自然坡度和木材自重沿槽道自動滑下的集材方式。一般適用于6°～30°的坡地。其原理是木材在滑道斜面上向下運動的分力必須大于最大摩擦力時，可克服摩擦阻力而向前滑動。不同結構的滑道有不同的摩擦阻力，從而可以根據坡度選擇滑道結構，如土滑道、竹滑道、木滑道、水滑道、冰雪滑道、金屬滑道或塑料滑道等。土滑道是利用山坡稍加整理成半圓形土槽,木材沿此滑下,俗稱串坡或溜山。竹滑道是先挖開半圓形溝槽，將整根或劈開的毛竹并列縱鋪固定在槽內。木滑道分縱木滑道和橫木滑道兩種，以縱木滑道應用最廣泛（見圖）。水滑道是引水注入道槽，木材借水力及其潤滑作用沿道槽滑行。冰雪滑道是在溝槽覆以雪層或澆水結冰。金屬滑道和塑料滑道是在溝槽分別鋪釘鐵板或鋁板或聚乙烯槽形塑料板。滑道集材設備簡單、不需動力、可就地取材、成本較低，但木材損耗較大，土滑道則破壞地表嚴重。⑥空中集材。是利用飛行器及其輔助設備使木材完全在空中運行的集材方式。其中，氣球集材是利用充氮氣球的升力把木材起吊到空中，用絞盤機的鋼索牽引氣球和木材運送到集材場，實際上是與絞盤機或索道相結合的集材方式，集材的能力及距離視氣球的容積、絞盤機的牽引力和容繩量而定。直升飛機集材是將木材懸吊于直升飛機下面空運到楞場。空中集材不需整修集材道，不損壞環境，但耗資巨大，且氣球集材還難以轉移設備。 20世紀60年代后期以來，蘇聯及歐美國家由于伐區作業聯合機的發展，集材已可與伐木、打枝、造材一起由聯合機來完成。
