切木爾切克古墓群切木爾切克古墓群，距阿勒泰市約30公里，距切木切克鄉集鎮15公里，位于平坦戈壁向山區過度地帶，數約有100余琢，分布在約5平方公里范圍內。墓有大、有小，有的較集中，有的分散。較大的一座長約65米，寬35米，位于哈底那爾村西，平均海平面高764米，墓前立有高1.5米，寬60公分，厚400 公分，4塊巨大黑石石碑，上刻有凸形浮雕頭像， 較小的墓大多分散在起伏土丘的制高點，墓前大多有一塊立石，四周大多鋪成直植的塊石圍護，隆起略高于地平面。1963年新疆社會科學院考古研究所，有計劃進行了部分發掘，發現墓葬形式有墓院制和單墓制兩種，墓院制地表大多無封土，周緣多有列石圍護，單墓制四周無列石圍護。但兩種墓葬都又分為石棺和豎穴土坑，石棺表面有的有封土，有的沒有，豎穴土坑均有封土，埋葬方式為：屈肢、仰身直肢、俯身直肢和亂首葬。出土文物有石器、陶器、銅器、鐵器、骨首質器等，時代起于戰國延伸至突厥時期，近千年。墓區除古墓以處，還有左文字石刻，巖畫，這些可能是此方草原上的游牧民族匈奴、突厥等民族的遺跡。考古學界有人將切木爾切克墓葬稱為切木爾克文化，可見地位之高。
