蓖麻蓖麻Ricinuscommunis；castor-oilplant大戟科蓖麻屬一年生或多年生草本。原產非洲東部，經亞洲傳入美洲，再至歐洲。中國蓖麻引自印度，自海南至黑龍江北緯49°以南均有分布。華北、東北最多，西北和華東次之，其他為零星種植。熱帶地區有半野生的多年生蓖麻。蓖麻栽培種有油用和油藥兼用兩種類型。根系發達，入土深。莖柔韌，中空，節節分枝，分枝多少因品種、密度而不同。多年生蓖麻植株高達5米以上。莖、葉綠色或紫紅色。植株被有白色蠟粉，光滑無毛。葉掌形，有的呈雞爪形。花單性，總狀圓錐花序，穗軸上部著生雌花，花柱紅色，下部為雄花。偶有兩性花混合排列或只有單生雌性花的植株。蒴果有刺或無刺，3室，每室1粒種子。皮殼光滑硬脆，有淺花紋，紅至黑褐色。生長最適溫度為20～28℃。①蓖麻植株②蓖麻子蓖麻在中國北方于冬前深耕，施用有機肥熟化土壤，成片種植。南方利用隙地種植。種子發育不需很高溫度，幼苗可耐0℃左右低溫。可直播或育苗移栽。北方春播宜早，氣溫穩定在10℃時可播種，以延長生長期并提高產量。多年生蓖麻可宿根留種，越冬前砍去地上部分，注意覆蓋保溫防凍。當大部蒴果呈深褐或黃褐色并開始出現裂紋時收獲。主要病蟲害有枯萎病、葉枯病、細菌性斑點病和地老虎、棉鈴蟲、刺蛾、蓖麻夜蛾。蓖麻種子含油量50％左右。蓖麻油為重要工業用油，可制表面活性劑、脂肪酸甘油脂、脂二醇、干性油、癸二酸、聚合用的穩定劑和增塑劑、泡沫塑料及彈性橡膠等。并是高級潤滑油原料。還可作藥劑，有緩瀉作用。餅粉中富含氮、磷、鉀，為良好的有機肥，經高溫脫毒后可作飼料。莖皮富含纖維，為造紙和人造棉原料。
