桉樹桉樹Eucalyptus桃金娘科桉屬植物的通稱。又稱有加利。常綠喬木,樹皮粗厚而宿存,或平滑而年年脫落。葉兩型,幼態葉無柄而對生,成熟葉鐮形或長圓形。有揮發性芳香油。花兩性,萼管鐘形與子房合生;花瓣與萼裂片連成帽狀體;雄蕊多數,花藥心形或腎形、直裂或孔開;花盤存在;子房下位,2~7室,胚珠多數。蒴果藏在壺形萼管內或突出萼管外;花盤在結實時形成果緣。種子多數,只有少數幾個能育。桉樹種類繁多,有522種和150個變種。多數原產澳大利亞,19世紀世界各地引種,有96個國家或地區有栽培。桉樹木材性質多種多樣,一般堅韌耐久,可供枕木、礦柱、橋梁、建筑、漿粕和人造板等用料;葉可提制精油,生產桉葉醇、檸檬醛等,在香料、醫藥工業上有廣泛用途;許多桉樹的皮、材、葉含單寧,可用于鍋爐除垢和緩凝劑;此外桉樹還是良好的薪炭材、蜜源植物和綠化及防護林用樹種。藍桉樹花果桉樹在原產地澳大利亞的森林類型有:干旱硬葉喬木林類型(見圖)、濕潤硬葉喬木類型、稀樹草原類型、干旱硬葉喬木類型、高山草甸類型。桉樹喜光,一般枝葉稀疏。大多數要求年平均溫度15℃以上,最冷月不低于7~8℃。一般能生長在年降水量500毫米的地區,年降水量超過1000毫米生長較好。適生于酸性的紅壤、黃壤和土層深厚的沖積土,但在土層深厚、疏松、排水好的地方生長良好。主根深,抗風力強。多數根頸有木瘤,有貯藏養分和萌芽更新的作用。一般造林后3~4年即可開花結實。桉樹育苗分裸根苗和容器苗兩種。一般四旁綠化采用播種后經過分床的一年生裸根苗;大面積造林則多采用容器苗。栽植季節一般在春末夏初或雨季開始后進行。按照經營目的、樹種生長特性和數量成熟期,確定采伐的年齡和徑級。采伐方式一般是塊狀皆伐。萌芽更新是桉樹經營的特點,具有初期生長迅速、干形通直、中間收益快等優點。桉樹林圖片
