瀏陽縣 湖南省長沙市屬縣，重要農業縣，著名金橘和花炮之鄉，磷礦產地。位于瀏陽河中上游，連云山及九嶺山之間的山丘盆谷區。面積5008平方公里，人口131.60萬。縣府駐城關鎮。漢為臨湘縣地，三國時吳置劉陽縣，東晉改稱瀏陽,以縣治南瀕瀏水得名。隋廢入長沙縣,唐復置。清屬長沙府，20世紀50年代初轄歸湘潭地區。縣境地勢自東北向西南傾斜，具有兩山三水、山河相間、林茂糧豐的自然經濟特點。用材林面積在全省22個林業重點縣中居第3位，盛產松、杉、闊葉林、油茶、楠竹等。油茶和楠竹面積均居第 1位。糧食生產集中在瀏陽河、撈刀河、南川河3個丘崗河谷平原地帶，有大量商品糧，年出欄肉豬20多萬頭，還盛產茶葉、水果。瀏陽金橘獨享盛名,有千余年栽培史,可加工制成蜜餞、罐頭和金橘花等。縣境蘊藏多種礦產資源。七寶山為硫鐵多金屬礦床。永和磷礦是湖南新興的磷肥原料基地。為便于采礦運輸，修建瀏醴窄軌鐵路與浙贛鐵路銜接。公路干支線可通往四鄰。特產以煙花爆竹著名，已有300多年歷史，清光緒十一年(1885)鞭炮開始出口。20世紀50年代以來又發展煙花，花炮品種由原來的10多種發展到300多種。花炮產品暢銷世界。瀏陽菊花石雕、夏布、豆豉、麻菌、相思鳥等產物也遠近馳名。文家市位于縣境東南,為1927年毛澤東領導的秋收起義勝利會師地址，已列為國家重點文物保護單位。
